Also known as the Arabian Angelfish or Crescent Angelfish, this Saltwater fish species can be shy and timid in the home saltwater aquarium or reef aquarium.

The Asfur Angelfish is characterized by a black body with a crescent shaped yellow stripe the runs vertically along the mid section of the Angelfish. The Asfur Angelfish also has a speckling of blue dots around the forehead area.

Be sure to provide plenty of hiding places large enough to accommodate this Angelfish, as the Asfur Angelfish can grow up to 16 inches in the wild but rarely grows much large than 8-9 inches in a home saltwater aquarium. The Asfur Angel needs a good amount of Live Rock for grazing. Like most Saltwater Angelfish , the Asfur Angelfish is known to nip at sessile invertebrates including Live Coral and Tridacnid Clams .

The diet of the Asfur Angelfish should consist of algae, fresh or frozen seafood, and saltwater angelfish food preparations containing various sponges.
