Commonly know as the Blue Ring Angelfish or the Blue King Angel for the blue ring above its gills. The Juvenile Annularis Angelfish shows very few of the characteristics of the Adult Annularis Angelfish.

The Juvenile Annularis Angelfish is characterized by blue and white vertical stripes against a body color of black or dark blue. The Juvenile Annularis Angelfish also has a strikingly bright blue outer rim which lines the edges of the back 2/3rds of the fish. As the Juvenile Annularis Angelfish matures, the vertical lines disappear and the more curved lines of the adult Annularis Angel, as well as the blue ring above its gills, become present.

Provide hiding places suitable to accommodate this Saltwater fish . While the Annularis Angelfish can grow upto 18 inches, Juvenile annularis angels are usually available from 1-2.5 inches in length.

The Juvenile Annularis Angelfish needs plenty of Live Rock for grazing. Most Saltwater Angelfish are known to nip at sessile invertebrates including Live Coral and Tridacnid Clams.

Considered semi-aggressive, the Juvenile Annularis may become territorial toward similar saltwater angelfish.

The diet of the Juvenile Annularis Angelfish should consist of algae, fresh or frozen seafood, and angelfish food preparations containing various sponges.
